Not What I Expected . . . Wow!

I really expected to hear specific comments from the Frost Toes after the Frostbite Festival 10-mile race was over. I expected to hear, "I won't have to get up early on Saturdays now," or "No more long weekend runs."

I really didn't expect to hear, "Can we keep doing long runs as a group?" But that's exactly what several Frost Toes asked after the run. Soooooooooo . . . okay, let's do it!

We won't plan anything for Saturday, December 8, because you can attend the Habitat for Humanity event that morning. The following weekend, Saturday, December 15, let's get together at the IDOT headquarters on Dirksen Parkway. We can run the trail to Rochester and back for an easy, FLAT 10 miles. Unless there are strong objections, we'll start at 7 am.

See you there!

I wanted to thank all of the Frost Toes for keeping me going on the Tuesday & Thursday workouts. Knowing that the group was going to be there kept me motivated.

I will be there on the 15th and will head to the Panera on Dirksen after the run for coffee. 7 AM is fine for me.

The Half Wits training program for the Lincoln Memorial Half Marathon will start on Saturday, February 2. Check out the Lincoln Memorial Half website at RunAbe.com, online registration is open and it looks to be another record breaking crowd for the Half Wits as well as the Lincoln Memorial Half Marathon.

Dwayne's buying coffee and bagels after the run!

Now THAT's what I call motivation . . .

That wasn't quite what I had in mind, but I hope you all can join us for the easy run on the 15th.

I think that my wallet might be in my other pants on that day.

Congratulations to everyone who ran the race on Sunday! It was awesome to see so many turn out and we had special weather ordered for the run! The enthusiasm and participation in the Frostbite Festival leads right back to Dwayne, Barry, and all of you who stayed motivated and did the training with the Frost Toes. Thanks for showing that SRRC has great programs and weather doesn't stop us!
